Good Colleges For Chemical Engineering/biochemistry?
I live in Southern California and I would like to know what colleges (preferably public) would be good for a major in chemical engineering or biochemistry. I would especially like to hear from people who have attended the colleges that they recommended but I am still open to all suggestions. Thanks in advance.
The UCs definitely.
Berkeley has one of the best chemical engineering programs in the nation. (According to US News & World Report their undergraduate program is 2nd, behind MIT)
UC Santa Barbara has a great chemical engineering department as well but you won’t go wrong in choosing UCLA or UCSD as well.
For biochemistry, try looking into UCSD, UCLA and UC Davis. Berkeley’s biology department isn’t shabby either but they don’t offer a specific major in biochemistry (though there is a chemical biology major), if that’s what you’re looking for.
Outside of the UCs, there is Stanford, Caltech and USC.
