Do you find yourself becoming easily irritated by work pressures? Working life can bring with it unnecessary stresses which can have negative long-term effects on the way we feel, both emotionally and physically. Stresses may have direct influence on how we function. For example, any nutrient deficiency can cause potential problem internally. Drinking caffeinated drinks all day, like tea, coffee or sodas, can knock out vital minerals such as magnesium – an essential nutrient in combating stress.
The regular consumption of processed or ‘fast’ foods, which some people view as the easiest way to eat, given the pressures of city life, can further deplete essential nutrients, or place an unnecessary burden on body organs. Many of these foods contain excessive amounts of sugar and salt. Most of us consume unnecessary salt in our diets (up to ten times as much as we actually need), and the addition of salt-laden foods can upset the normal rhythm of the heart or interrupt the natural flow of nutrients into and out of the body’s cells.
This one day seminar will bring forth topics on how to stay healthy by consuming good foods, stop smoking and how to release your stress. There will also be a demonstration on how to be physically active.
